SHIELD Asset Recovery
Sep. 30th, 2012 10:14 pmSHIELD HQ, 11:59 PM 9-30-2012
* All upper floors abandoned entirely of personnel. Schmidt redecorated Fury's office with red banners and slept in his bed. Sometimes with other people. The sheets have been laundered.
Lower levels devoid of all but the most basic lab equipment. Computers, file cabinets, servers, experiments, weapons, phase 2 – almost all of it is gone. Experimental material not deemed useful was probably left behind. Everything regarding the tesseract and asgardian tech was taken, including HYDRA weapons, research and data.
* Remaining security and data storage systems are fried, including those involved in CCTV surveillance. Some more minor things like door access histories were probably overlooked, contact me if they would dig this deep and I will give you some things.
* The airlock to Amora's cell opens on a timer. She is free.
* The remaining green eyes are locked together in another cell. They appear to be unharmed. Selvig is among them.
SHIELD HELICARRIER, 11:59 PM 9-30-2012
* Two (2) F-35B Lightning II aircraft are missing from the flight deck. A couple of other planes look like they've been used for target practice by something that has blown off or vanished massive pieces of them.
* Aside from clearing out personnel, not a lot was done here. CCTV surveillance remains. In this way it might be discovered that
* There are five substantial bombs on the helicarrier. One in the control room, four attached to the hull beneath the surface.
SHIELD HELICARRIER, 12:00 AM 10-01-2012
* Timers on the bombs activate, all set to 5 minutes.
OTHER STUFF
* Schmidt and his crates are on a small, half-frozen island within Svalbard, north of Norway. Satellite imaging shows an abandoned mining town on one side of the island and ancient nordic ruins on the other, including a castle. The terrain is mountainous and there are polar bears because fuck yeah, polar bears.
* Satellite imaging also shows modified flak guns mounted around the island. Modified how? COME AND SEE.
* Beyond vehicular movement and the aforementioned artillery there is very little to see at the surface.
QUESTIONS?
* Comment.

Date: 2012-10-03 03:11 am (UTC)Is there any reason we would ICly think that taking a quinjet over to another bit of Svalbard and boating around would be a bad idea (it looks like a little icy archipelago with fun little bays and inlets and things to park ourselves)?
It looks like we are going in with Clint, Val, Sif and Abby riding in on polar bears and checking out surveillance and seeing what we can find out, especially with regard to where it looks like HYDRA is (town? castle? UNDERGROUND BASE?).
except maybe the part about polar bears. I don't know, it seems to be a very popular option.
Assuming we use Stark's satellite to check for ~magical~ type Asgardian energy signatures coming from Svalbard, would we pick anything up that way?

Date: 2012-10-03 03:55 am (UTC)There are regular HYDRA patrols around the roads in robust military-type jeeps. Simple and straight forward. They are not the primary means of security and more on the hour than every ten minutes but they exist.

The island the castle is on features vicious anti-aircraft guns. Other islands are likely marginally more hospitable and there is plenty of scenery to hide in. There are likely mines in the water around the easiest "most obvious" points of entry but other workable landing zones.

HYDRA troops appear to be well-established both in the town and the castle. There is limited movement on the surface beyond basic security activity. Surveillance is likely seismic/acoustic along the roads and immediately around the town/castle. There is definitely a big brother atmosphere with CCTV surveillance, watch towers and radio monitoring.
The castle is built into a mountainside. There are massive exterior blast doors somewhere around the mountain's base, not directly connected to the castle. Stumping around at ground level it may also become evident that there are snowed over missile silos with blast doors painted white to match the landscape.

Yyyyyyyyyyynnnnnnnnoouuuuuhhhhhhh let me ask Stark something.
Ok yes. The flak guns mounted around the castle emit radiation reflective of tesseract influence. There is also a hot inscrutable mess of this at the core of the mountain and in the missile silos. For more magicky magic consult your local Loki.
