Tit brought up and enough people were interested in the idea of scaling the time ratio of the game down to a 2 RL days to 1 IC day kind of thing -- or even worse. I mean more. Whatever.

Pls to have opinions here.

I hate time ratios with a passion, but FOR THE RECORD, the reason i suggested it is that there feels like a lot of IC downtime between IC action, and I don't know how much of that is avoidable or not. But if it's not avoidable because of schedules, then the ratio might take some of the implausibility factor of having the Avengers moving so slowly out.

I also hate time ratios.

I'd rather work on the problem of making things feel more IC timewise than have a time ratio.

I am pretty strongly opposed. I actually feel like slowing down IC time when we're already feeling like we're slow reacting to things would make everything seem even SLOWER. I don't think it would help, and I think it would feel like molasses overall.

I am not a fan of time ratios. I feel like the issues we're having with scheduling and momentum need to be addressed systemically, not symptomatically. I appreciate what Tit was trying to do here but I feel like I want to try and address this another way before we start resorting to drastic measures like a gamewide time slowdown.

i'll admit that the slow down would help me, just due to the fact there are three and a half days where i can't really rp and that's difficult when i'm trying to do plot.

THAT SAID the time ratio would make me crazy, probably, and i've discovered that google docs are useful for when i can't log into the MU* client, i.e, at work. with the power of friendship we should be able to reconcile this, but people a) need to be forgiving of the work schedules of everyone, b) be attentive!! and get on to helping stuff move forward, c) be willing to backlog, be willing to hash out stuff ooc as needed, etc.

if we as a group can't do these things then it's probably a bigger problem than time slow down would fix but it'd be a crutch if necessary. :V

i am not too worried, overall.

I think changing the time-ratio would just make things easier in terms of having to do less catch-up. As it is, for the few days I've been around to see, the missions of IMMEDIATE WORLD-ENDING IMPORTANCE have had to wait at least 2 days for OOC scheduling needs that objectively, strictly can't be helped. My example on pubchan: Fandral has been living at the mansion for days and there are folks who he very likely should have met, but we haven't OOCly had the time to. It's easier to handwave 1-2 days without bumping into each other than it is 4.

On the other hand, I don't think it's necessary as long as the ensuing game of catch-up (handwaving, summarizing, backscening, etc.) or skewing IC reality don't hurt anybody and some good contingencies are set up (i.e., secondary person-of-contact to kick in if the first doesn't make it, etc.). Alternatively, if no one cares/gets very upset that's cool too. Don't fix it if it ain't broke.

I guess I'm pretty used to accordioning the timeline whenever it's needed, on a case-by-case (or week-by-week) basis. I'll be comfy with whatever.
