When the three queens go down, the lines of Annihilus's forces collapse across Vanaheim. There are not enough mercenaries left to hold the line and impose order as the insect forces crumble; even the elite Seekers can do little to turn the battle in their favor.

Mercenaries and Seekers alike surrender in short order, and buckle all the more quickly when word reaches them that Ravenous was taken out and rabbited to save his hide.

It is more difficult to arrange a surrender of the bugs. A large portion of them are busy fighting each other; the others are soft targets for allies driven beyond reason by rage, but even the wildest, even those who have lost the most loose their taste for slaughtering those unable to fight back.

So.
  • Annihilus formally surrenders by Seeker courier in a ranting message all death, destruction, et cetera, and vows revenge on those who killed his queens.
  • When questioned, the courier leads them to Annihilus's last known location which now has the kind of scorch marks associated with a hasty exit.
  • There's a lot of clean up to do. Using Loki's cannibalistic command as a pattern, the bugs are reprogrammed to follow very basic instructions to help the Vanir and trolls clean up Vanaheim.
  • Speaking of: the trolls are setting up their home on a rocky continent of Vanaheim that was all but made a wasteland by the war. There's a lot of clean up to do and the fields may never fully recover ... but there are some great cave systems!
  • There are a lot of details to be arranged over the next week or so. Odin has scheduled a future feast for celebration. Asgardians, Avengers, and other miscellaneous allies are given their freedom and invited to return for the feast.
    • Which you guys can totally schedule for after the holidays.
    • This means people can go back to Earth or whatever and then come back for the party.
    • Odin and Frigga will be all distant and remote overseeing the party unless anyone is dying to RP them in which case knock yourselves out. I don't have a monopoly.
  • On villains and villainry:
    • Amora: Odin forces a social truce between Amora and the more prominent objects of her most recent scandals. There's no pardon for her, but there's no pardon needed. Not really. Not if you want to get technical about it. She is recognized for her work fighting Annihilus and his armies, but let's say at a bronze medal level, unlike Thor and his gold medal. (Fucking Thor, man.)
    • Loki gets a silver medal of praise, so to speak. (Still not as good as Thor, but Thor DIED for Asgard, so he is really the most hero-y of heroes.) He is pardoned for the crime of overzealous patriotism with the understanding that it is a pardon that is offered only once. Also no more complaining about the treason of Thor's friends, given that there was a lot of overzealous patriotism going around at the time.
    • Schmidt gets a silver medal and an invitation to study. (See also: be studied.) Odin says some very nice things about his abilities and talents as a warrior and would like to talk war stuff some time, all tell me about your old war from back on Midgard kind of thing. The tone of Odin and court is one of reserved and gracious curiosity touched with a bit of ... 'nice monster' kind of thing.
  • Good guys:
    • Yaaaay good guys! The Avengers as a whole are silver-medal heroes (well, Hulk is maybe gold and Tony who is Tony gets bronze because he hid with the dwarves BUT AT LEAST THEY APPRECIATED HIM). They don't get any prizes. There's no reward. Their great gift is a favor, a promise held against future need. They came when Asgard needed them; they have ensured Asgard's friendship. Asgard will be there for them in the future, with Thor as a promise of this.
    • Thor should really come home and be heir but since he won't he can go play with the Avengers to seal that alliance and guard Midgard against retribution from Annihilus.
There was discussion of parties. There will be a party. It will be a huge party. They need to clean up / set up / find enough booze. Everyone is invited. You can get a ride back to Asgard on the rainbow express for the party if you go home to earth.

I AM SURE I MISSED THINGS. IMPORTANT THINGS. Questions / etc. can go here in the comments pls. I'll get to them sooner rather than later, I promise.
