Brand, Steve, and Sif returned from their Chinese spelunking adventure via portal to the mansion's basement last night, along with a blast of flame that followed them through before Sif shut the door. Brand was playing hot potato with a claw bone that was on fire at the time of arrival but gradually died down afterwards to merely unnaturally warm (I think, I haven't got the log in front of me just now to double-check that last pose). They claim to have taken the claw from a pile of large, bronze-looking bones that may or may not have belonged to a spacedragon called a Makluan but definitely spontaneously combusted and started a small earthquake. The claw will be given to Stark and Bruce & Co. to study. Time to do science.
